Lowering Energy Costs through Solar Power
In today's society there are many ways in which to eliminate or reduce high energy bills. Most homes wither run off of electric or gas. But in modern homes, many homeowners have been using solar as a method as solar helps to use less energy and a drastic reduction on energy bills.
Investing in solar may seem a little more than other types of energy but it pays off as it will save money over the course of time. Solar is an alternative energy source that will help free up the financial burden of high energy bills.
The sun's potential energy seems vast since there is so much of it. By using the sun as a heat source; it is one of the simplest ways to heat a home without a significant increase in utility bills. Also, it can be a way to lower energy dependency.
There are a lot of advantages to the sun, that discount a fun day at the beach, as it heats homes and offices as well as offering natural light. A light source coming from the sun brightens rooms so that the homeowner doesn't need to waste energy.
Unfortunately to survive humans need electricity and other sources of energy. What many do not know about electricity is that it contributes to the increase of the carbon footprint that so many leave behind. There are five easy ways to reduce electricity usage:
- Switch off appliances when not in use
- Go solar
- Look into gas appliances
- Limit air conditioning usage
- LED lighting
Solar panels are light and durable as they help to reduce the usage of electricity in the home/office settings. Solar can be used to heat or light up rooms so that the home/business owner can have hot water, heat and natural light without needing electricity.
Solar panels can be installed anywhere in the home or the outdoors such as greenhouses, sheds and other exterior dwellings that need electricity and light. It can save money and help to decrease carbon footprints.
The current way that many abuse electricity can be very damaging to the environment. The emissions from carbon add to the pollutants that will one day possibly destroy the planet. Planet earth is in a constant state of fragile affairs from electricity usage alone.
The alternative energy source; soar power is used instead as it helps as a renewable non- polluting energy source as well as protects the environment. There are so many reasons that solar panel systems can be beneficial to the home/office.
There are solar panels made for residential use and there are those designed for commercial outfits too. Solar power is harvested through the panels which are made up solar cells. The cells are contrived using the element silicon (Si) which is also used in computer processors.
The three main types of solar panels are:
- Monocrystalline
- Polycrystalline
- Amorphous
A majority of solar panels that are manufactured in the world today are made from silicon. Monocrystalline silicon solar cells are created of highly-pure silicon. It is very efficient especially in sunny climates both in terms of converting light into electricity and the use of space.
Polycrystalline are much less expensive than monocrystalline to make. These panels work better in cloudy climates. They draw more effective power whenever full days of sun are less common.
Amorphous solar panels require a less intensive manufacturing process which makes them far more affordable to homeowners. They do though have lower conversion efficiencies than other systems. Typical amorphous panels have energy conversion efficiencies that range from 2-4%.
Solar power that's introduced into the home can save the average homeowner hundreds of dollars per year on lighting and heating. They are an environmentally-friendly product that's safe and renewable. They also require very little to no maintenance.
One of the main advantages to utilizing solar power is; if there is ever power outage, it will not affect the home. Many who rely on electricity and heat are more likely to experience problems during an outage while you lessen your dependency on these energy sources.
Some solar panels are very easy to install. There's no wires involved which means no specialized tools or machinery. Over time, the homeowner will see the many advantages of solar panels and how they affect the home.
